Home Education Workshops starting November 2021
Scavenger Labs are offering a two partner workshops in our new education centre called Todmorden Makery. The focus of both of these workshops is hands ons, inclusive and engaging approach to science and technology.
- Age Range - 10-14
- Dates: Mondays starting November 1st till 13th December
- Cost per course - £95 for 7 sessions - (discount if you also book both £150)~

- Mondays 12.00 - 13.45 - Making and Coding (Game Making) - Making games together as a fantastic and fun way to learn real computer coding practices and hands-on making skills
- Mondays 14.30 - 15.45 - The Science Lab -A series of introductory science workshops exploring key concepts in biology, chemistry and physics in a safe, fun and inclusive environment

Making and Coding : Make your own Arcade Console Game
Making games together as a family as a fantastic and fun way to learn real computer coding practices. The way you’ll learn is to make your own game based on a starting template of a platform game. The kinds of skills you will develop are in coding, planning, designing digital products and team communication.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is this a drop off session or do parents have to stay?
A: The Game Making session is designed for families to attend but it can be a drop off it that’s more convenient. For Science Lab sessions they are usually run as drop offs but you are welcome to attend if this suits your family.
Q: Can siblings outside the age range attend?
A: This may be possible depending on ages, etc. Contact us and we can work this out with you.
Q: What are class sizes?
A: Up to 12 young people
Q: Who will be leading the sessions?
A: All facilitators are professionally trained with relevant PGCE qualifications and DBS checked. Most importantly we are passionate about informal teaching and inclusive and engaging approaches - read all about us here
